1. About us
Capital Business Loans Limited is a limited company registered in England and Wales with company number 14491729, whose registered office is at Suite 31, Shiftworks, 14 Upper Northgate Street, Chester, CH1 4EE. We are registered with the Information Commissioner's Office under reference ZB464621 and are authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority under firm reference number 1000382.
We are an independent commercial finance brokerage. We aim to secure funding offers for your business from a panel of UK lenders. We are a credit broker and not a direct lender.
SME Finance Hub and Practice Capital are trading styles of Capital Business Loans Limited. These terms apply to services provided under the Capital Business Loans name and under either trading style.
2. Definitions
- "You" or "your": the individual or entity accessing our website or services, including any authorised representatives.
- "Services": all services provided by Capital Business Loans Limited, including funding application processing, finance consultations and related support.
- "Website": this website and any associated subdomains, together with the websites operated under our trading styles.
3. Eligibility
To use our Services you must:
- Be a business, partnership, practice or sole trader registered and operating in the United Kingdom.
- Be an individual with a UK address, at least 18 years old, acting for purposes within your trade, business or profession.
- Provide accurate and complete information during the application process.
- Comply with all applicable laws and regulations, including those relating to financial services.
4. Our services
- Application processing: facilitating applications for business and professional practice funding through our lender panel.
- Brokerage services: acting as an intermediary between you and third-party lenders, including support during the application process.
- Document support: liaising between you and the lender to ensure paperwork is completed smoothly.
We do not guarantee approval, as decisions are made by third-party lenders against their own criteria. Some lenders may provide an initial quote or indicative offer, which is not a full offer of finance and is subject to final checks. We will always act to match your business with the most appropriate and available funding offer from our panel.
5. Your obligations
- Provide accurate, current and complete information when applying or communicating with us.
- Notify us promptly of any changes to your business, personal or financial circumstances that may affect your application.
- Use our website and Services only for lawful purposes and in compliance with these terms.
- Not misuse our website, including by introducing viruses or malware or engaging in fraudulent activity.
6. Application process
- Submission: you may apply through our website or by contacting us by phone, email or WhatsApp. Applications require business and financial information, which we share with lenders. Lenders also require personal details for directors, partners and major shareholders, usually including full name, date of birth, contact details and address history.
- Assessment: we review your information before submitting to the most relevant lenders.
- Documentation: as a minimum we need basic financial information and director or partner details. Most applications require your latest full accounts and the last three to six months of business bank statements. Some require management accounts, VAT returns, HMRC debt information or cashflow forecasts.
- Decision timeframes: some lenders offer instant decisions, others take a few working days to a couple of weeks. Secured lending can take longer. We will keep you updated on likely timescales.
- Credit checks: we may carry out identity and credit checks on the business and its owners or directors to help detect and prevent fraud. These appear on your credit report but do not impact your credit rating. Lenders will also carry out checks, which may be soft or hard searches on the business or the individuals named on the application.
7. Third-party lenders
- We work with a panel of third-party lenders to find suitable funding options for you.
- Terms, interest rates and repayment schedules are set by the lender and are documented in a separate agreement between you and that lender.
- We are not a party to the finance agreement and are not liable for disputes arising between you and the lender.
8. Fees and commission
We do not charge you a separate upfront fee for our services.
- Finance providers pay us commission for introducing businesses that proceed with a funding offer. Commission varies by provider and facility, and may be a fixed fee or a percentage of the amount borrowed.
- Commission is disclosed to you in the lender's documentation and is available on request at any point in the process.
- Where a lender charges its own fees, we will tell you about them upfront when applicable.
If a case does not complete, we are paid nothing.
